Nissan Canada Reveals Power, Performance and Innovation at Montreal Auto Show

2011 Nissan LEAF, 2012 GT-R and 2011 NISMO 370Z Set to Impress Montreal Consumers

January 13, 2011 – Today, Nissan Canada revealed three of its most exciting new production vehicles at the 2011 Montreal Auto Show. Making their first public appearances in Canada are the 2012 GT-R, 2011 NISMO 370Z and the long-awaited, all-electric, zero-emission Nissan LEAF, which will go on sale in Canada in fall 2011.

“Montreal consumers are in for a great show this year and at the Nissan booth they can get up close and personal with cars that embody Nissan’s commitment to Innovation for All,” said Allen Childs, President, Nissan Canada Inc. “This will be the first opportunity for many to see the Nissan LEAF in person and we expect a very positive response. ”Godzilla” is always a huge draw and for Z-enthusiasts, the NISMO is the next stage in the evolution of a legend.”

The 2011 Nissan LEAF™ is the world’s first affordable, zero-emission car designed for real-world driving needs including comfortable seating for five, ample storage space, a maximum speed of 140 km/hour and a range of 160 kilometres (U.S. LA4 cycle) on one full charge. Powered by 48 laminated Lithium-ion battery modules and generating 107 horsepower and 207 lb-ft of torque, Nissan LEAF provides a highly responsive, fun-to-drive experience.
The 2012 Nissan GT-R continues to deserve its legendary nickname “Godzilla” with even more power under the hood. GT-R’s advanced 3.8-litre twin turbo V6 now produces 530 horsepower – 45 more than 2011 – and 448 lb-ft of torque versus the previous 434. Other improvements for 2012 include increased structural rigidity, suspension modifications and new tires for better driving performance. The new “Black Edition” features new carbon-fiber trim, custom red-trimmed Recaro seats, red and black interior trim and a dark headliner, and will be available at official “GT-R certified” Nissan dealers across Canada in early 2011.

The dynamic Nissan NISMO 370Z is a tuner-Z ® enthusiast’s dream and the most powerful production Z ever offered. Coming to Canada for the first time in spring 2011 with an MSRP of $46,898, it provides 350 horsepower, racing-inspired exterior and interior styling, a specially tuned suspension and unique super-lightweight forged alloy wheels. The limited production NISMO 370Z is offered in one completely equipped model with a close-ration 6-speed manual transmission and choice of five exterior colours.
